Due to the constraints and limitations of managed care, Dark Horse Counseling does not bill most insurance companies directly. We believe we can keep the costs reasonable while providing services that are needed and for the amount of time necessary without being constrained by managed care rules on diagnoses and manualized care.

However, we have been working hard to make sure our credentialing process allows for some insurance companies to work with us and still provide efficient and streamlined care.

The following are new insurance companies with whom we have a structured process for billing and can accept payment through them:

• Aetna
• Cigna and Evernorth
• Medicare
• Optum
• UMR
• UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH
• Out of Network 

For other insurances, you might be able to get a reimbursement for payments through an out-of-network or use the payments toward your yearly deductible. We will provide an itemized but generic receipt to ensure your privacy.
